WedlySite cookie policy
Last updated: October 2026
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar storage that wedlysite.com uses: who sets each one, why, and for how long. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Session storage works in a similar way, but it is cleared when you close the tab. Local storage also works in a similar way, but it stays in your browser until it is cleared.
The short version
- Our cookie banner shows to every visitor, wherever you are.
- Until you make a choice, wedlysite.com uses only essential storage.
- Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity session recording load only after you tap "Accept all", or switch them on in "Settings". Before you choose, they do not load at all, not even in a limited or cookieless mode. If you choose "Reject all", they never load.
- Vercel Analytics, which counts visits, uses no cookies and is always on.
- We remember your choice for 12 months, then the banner asks again. You can change your choice at any time through "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page.
- Our example websites follow the same choice.
Essential (always on)
These keep the site working. They hold no information about who you are.
| Name | Set by | Type | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ws-intro-seen | WedlySite | Session storage | Remembers that you have seen the opening animation, so it does not play again on every page | Until you close the tab |
| ws-consent | WedlySite | Local storage | Remembers your cookie choice, so the banner does not ask again | 12 months, then the banner asks again |
Analytics: Google Analytics (only if you accept)
Google Analytics shows us which pages couples read, how long they stay, and how they found us. It also records a few steps on our quote calculator: which package was picked, the quote total, and whether the quote was sent. It never receives your name or contact details. wedlysite.com has its own Google Analytics property, separate from our South African website. We have not turned on Google's advertising features.
| Name | Set by | Type | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google, on wedlysite.com | Cookie | Tells visitors apart | 2 years |
| _ga_ followed by our site's ID | Google, on wedlysite.com | Cookie | Keeps track of your visit | 2 years |
Names and durations are from Google's own documentation. Google explains how it uses this information at policies.google.com/privacy.
Session recording: Microsoft Clarity (only if you accept)
Clarity records pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement, and turns them into heatmaps and session replays. We use it to see where the site is unclear. Text you type into a form is hidden: Microsoft masks form fields in every Clarity setting. wedlysite.com has its own Clarity project, separate from our South African website.
| Name | Set by | Type | Why (Microsoft's description) | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _clck | Microsoft Clarity, on wedlysite.com | Cookie | Keeps the Clarity user ID and preferences for this site | About 1 year |
| _clsk | Microsoft Clarity, on wedlysite.com | Cookie | Joins the pages of one visit into a single recording | About 1 day |
| CLID | Microsoft, on a Microsoft domain | Third-party cookie | Records the first time Clarity saw this browser on any site that uses Clarity | Not published |
| MUID | Microsoft, on a Microsoft domain | Third-party cookie | Identifies browsers visiting Microsoft sites. Microsoft uses it for advertising, site analytics, and other operational purposes | About 13 months |
| ANONCHK | Microsoft, on a Microsoft domain | Third-party cookie | Shows whether MUID is passed to an advertising cookie. Clarity does not use that cookie, so this is always set to 0 | A few minutes |
| MR | Microsoft, on a Microsoft domain | Third-party cookie | Shows whether to refresh MUID | 7 days |
| SM | Microsoft, on a Microsoft domain | Third-party cookie | Keeps MUID in step across Microsoft domains | Until you close the browser |
Names and descriptions are from Microsoft's own Clarity documentation. Microsoft does not publish how long each one lasts, so the durations are what a browser showed on 5 October 2026, and they may change. Microsoft explains how it uses this information at privacy.microsoft.com.
Vercel Analytics (always on, no cookies)
Vercel Analytics counts visits to each page. It uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. Vercel tells visitors apart with a code made from the incoming request, which resets every day, so you cannot be followed from one day to the next or across websites. It records the page, the site you came from, your country, region and city, your device type, operating system, and browser. We see only combined figures.
Our example websites
The example websites on our Our Work page follow the same choice you make in our cookie banner. Microsoft Clarity runs there only after you accept it.
Their fonts are served from wedlysite.com itself, like the rest of our site, so no request goes to Google Fonts.
Most example websites also have a venue map from Google Maps. The map does not load when the page opens. It loads from Google only when you tap "Show map". From that point, Google receives your IP address and browser details, and Google's own cookies may apply. Google does not publish which cookies its embedded maps set. Its cookie page, at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies, explains the cookies Google uses.
How to change your choice
Use "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page. It opens the settings panel at any time. You can switch Analytics and Session recording on or off separately, or reject both. If you switch them off, they stop loading and we ask Microsoft Clarity to remove its cookies. We keep your choice for 12 months. After that, the banner asks again. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and the website will still work.
